Snow likely to hit Cheyenne over coming days; warming temperatures to follow

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The southeast Wyoming region is expected to receive snow through the rest of week as temperatures drop. Following the precipitation, temperatures will rise above 50 degrees.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne reports in its seven-day forecast that Tuesday and Wednesday will maintain sunny skies for the most part. Snow or rain may occur in the afternoon on Wedesday. Tuesday’s high will rise to 41 degrees, and Wednesday will be even warmer at 50 degrees. However, a northern cold front will be making its way southward starting Wednesday, according to the NWS in Cheyenne’s area forecast discussion.

Thursday will see a 70% chance of snow, and temperatures will drop back down to 41 degrees. Snowfall is expected to be light, according to the area forecast. Friday will see even cooler temperatures, with a high of 33 degrees. Snow will also be likely before noon. Clouds will continue to linger through the day.

Sunny skies will return Saturday and Sunday alongside bit of warmth. Saturday’s high will be around 46 degrees, and Sunday will be even hotter at 54 degrees.
