Wet weekend in store for Cheyenne area

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Cheyenne-area residents may want to keep umbrellas and rain boots handy over the coming weekend, as the National Weather Service in Cheyenne is calling for a good bit of precipitation over the next two days.

Today should see a chance of rain and snow showers before noon, followed by scattered rainfall throughout much of the rest of the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of about 48 degrees.

After midnight, the wintry mix of rain and snow is likely to return, the NWS in Cheyenne reports. Temperatures will fall to a low of about 25 degrees after sundown.

Sunday’s forecast includes a chance of showers between noon and 3 p.m., followed by a chance of thunderstorms. Temps could reach a high near 52.
