CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The coming weekend is likely to be a blustery one for the Cheyenne area, as the National Weather Service in Cheyenne has declared a high wind warning for much of the region on Saturday with strong winds expected to continue throughout Sunday.
Today, the NWS in Cheyenne predicts wind speeds will reach roughly 50 mph, with gusts as strong as 75 mph possible throughout the day. The high wind warning goes into effect at noon and continues until Sunday at 7 p.m.
Today’s conditions are also expected to feature some morning snow, with the NWS in Cheyenne calling for a 50% chance between 9 a.m. and noon. The NWS in Cheyenne is also predicting a high temperature near 42 degrees.
At night, Cheyenne will see a 50% chance of snow as temperatures fall to a low of around 29. Winds aren’t expected to let up from earlier in the day.
On Sunday, the NWS in Cheyenne calls for a 20% chance of snow before noon. The day is likely to warm up as the afternoon progresses, though, and temperatures are ultimately expected to reach 46 degrees. Meanwhile, winds will be nearly as strong as the day before, with speeds of upwards of 35 mph and gusts approaching 70 mph.
