Soggy start to week expected for Cheyenne area

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Laramie County residents will likely need to contend with some rainy weather as the coming week gets underway, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.

Monday will begin with a slight 20% chance of showers, though that will grow to a 60% likelihood by mid-afternoon. The temperature is expected to reach a high of roughly 62 degrees.

Rain is even more likely later in the day, as the NWS in Cheyenne reports an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms continuing into the night. After sundown, temperatures are likely to fall to a low of around 39 degrees.

Tuesday’s weather is expected to be exceedingly similar to Monday’s. The NWS in Cheyenne’s forecast calls for on-and-off rainfall for most of the day, beginning around 9 a.m. The chance of rain will begin at 60% but grow to as high as a 90% later in the day. The rain will once again lead to a cooler day, with the NWS in Cheyenne predicting a high of 52.

At night, temperatures will fall to a low of 32 as the rain continues until roughly 2 a.m.
