CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Sunny skies are here to stay, at least for the Memorial Day holiday, in Cheyenne.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has forecast a high today of 73, accompanied by a northwest wind at 10–15 mph. Some clouds are expected to roll in tonight, though they too will gradually clear as the low falls to around 44.

A potentially stormy week lies ahead after today, although storm chances are low throughout the forecast period.

Tuesday will start off sunny with a high near 76. A 20% chance for thunderstorms creeps into the forecast for the afternoon and evening before clearing and leaving a 47-degree night under partly cloudy skies.

Wednesday will carry a daylong 20% chance for showers that will increase to a 40% chance for afternoon thunderstorms as the high reaches 77. Storm chances fall again to 20% overnight. The low will drop to near 47.

Thursday will see the high return to 76 under sunny skies. A 20% chance for thunderstorms rolls in after noon and continues through the evening until around midnight. The low will be near 43.

There’s not much chance in that pattern into the next weekend. Friday will see a high near 68, Saturday a high of 72 and Sunday a high near 79, if the forecast holds up.
