CASPER, Wyo. — A large crash involving many vehicles occurred on Interstate 80 and will keep the westbound portion closed for an unknown length of time, according to Wyoming Department of Transportation District 1 officials.
“This large-scale event will take the Wyoming Highway Patrol hours to investigate and the road will be closed for an indeterminate amount of time,” WYDOT said.
The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. at mile post 266, near Wagonhound.
I-80 is currently closed in both directions between Cheyenne and Rock Springs due to winter conditions. I-25 is also closed from Wheatland to Buffalo. The estimated reopening times are unknown.
