CASPER, Wyo. – A man was arrested after leading Evansville, Wyoming Police on a chase that reached 110 mph on Friday night.
According to a press release from the Evansville PD, the driver was identified as Jared Baker, who was reportedly driving an “older Buick 4 door car” and sped up as officers attempted a traffic stop.
The release says the vehicle headed east on US Hwy 20/26 through Natrona County and into Converse County near Glenrock.
Officers from the Glenrock Police Department, Converse County, Natrona County Sheriff’s Office and Wyoming State Troopers joined the pursuit over pavement and gravel roads.
As the pursuit went to the southwest corner of Campbell County, the suspect lost control on a gravel road and blew a tire. The pursuit lasted nearly one hour, according to the EPD.
Two people identified as driver Jared Baker and passenger Ashley Mabbitt were taken into custody.
Charges for Baker include improper registration, eluding, driving while suspended, felony methamphetamine possession, reckless driving, interference with a peace officer. He also had two Natrona County warrants and one out-of-county warrant, according to the release.
Mabbitt is charged with open container in vehicle, probation revocation, and person using under influence of controlled substances.
