CASPER, Wyo. – The Cheyenne Police Department is investigating a shooting overnight at the 1700 block of W. Lincolnway.

A report last night from TV station KWGN said police were called to the parking lot of the Towneplace Suites just after 11 p.m.

According to a Cheyenne Police press release, officers arrived and found North Dakota native Genaro Bojorquez, 35, injured from a gunshot wound.

The release says Bojorquez told officers he was assaulted by “two black males, one of whom had dreadlocks.”

Another person with Bojorquez was uninjured.

The men were reportedly driving a gray or black 1990s-era Jeep Cherokee and fled the scene before officers arrived.

Bojorquez was transported to the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center before being flown by helicopter to University of Denver Hospital.

The CPD is looking for information on the incident. Anonymous tips can be made through the Crime Stoppers Silent Witness program at 307-638-TIPS or online at www.silentwitnesslaramiecounty.com.
