The husband of Cheyenne’s Mayor was recommended for domestic battery, following an arrest this weekend. Paperwork in the case has not been filed to the Laramie County Circuit Court, however.
Jimmy Orr, husband of Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr, was reportedly arrested in Laramie County on December 20, 2019. Orr was said to have been booked on a recommended charge of misdemeanor domestic battery.
Orr’s case was not heard during scheduled initial appearances in Laramie County Circuit Court, before Judge Denise Nau, on December 23, 2019. During the hearing it was reported that paperwork had not been filed by the Laramie County District Attorney in the case.
Reporters were still unable to obtain any court documents in the incident, at approximately 2:00 pm, Monday afternoon.
When called for comment, Mayor Orr’s office referred to a personal statement made by the Mayor, to Cheyenne based media:
“Domestic violence cuts across all parts of our society. Apparently, no one is immune. I am having to come to grips with being victimized in this way. This is a very traumatic time for me, my children, and my parents. I appreciate our community respecting my privacy as I deal with this personal situation.”
