CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A Cheyenne man was arrested on January 19th and now faces a charge of Aggravated Assault after the man was accused of attempting to stab another person with a piece of broken glass.
According to court papers, Mason Madden was arrested by the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday after they responded to a report of a domestic assault occurring on the 2500 block of Herford Lane.
During his initial court appearance on Tuesday, January 21st, Madden was officially charged with a felony count of Aggravated Assault & Battery and a misdemeanor count of Simple Battery.
The court papers say that when deputies arrived on scene they found Madden being restrained by two other people who had allegedly attacked.
According to the affidavit, Mason had begun choking one of victims following an argument. The affidavit goes on to say, that while choking the victim, Madden reportedly yelled “I’m going to kill you.” repeatedly.
Court documents say that was when another person in the residence pulled Madden off of the victim and proceeded to hold him down. It is alleged that Madden bit the person restraining him.
Law enforcement says that while the scuffle was taking place a mirror was broken and Madden, while on the ground, grabbed a piece of glass from the mirror and attempted to stab the victim in the face multiple times.
Deputies say that they observed bruising and injuries in both of the alleged victims.
Madden’s bond was set for $5000.
All of those cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
