A Cheyenne man is facing multiple charges, including two felonies, after it was alleged that he struck, strangled, and aimed a drawn bow and arrow at another person in July of 2019.
According to Laramie County Circuit Court Documents, Gregory Travis Frank, born in 1984, faces charges including felony Strangulation of a Household Member and Aggravated Assault.
Officers with the Cheyenne Police Department say that they responded to a domestic disturbance call at approximately 2:30 pm, at a private home, in the city of Cheyenne.
Upon arrival, police made contact with the alleged victim in the case, who claimed that Frank had beaten, strangled, hosed, and threatened them with a bow and arrow.
The accuser said that they were with Frank to “hang out.” It was then reported that the two began to argue, and that the argument became physical when Frank struck the accuser with a closed fist.
It was then alleged that Frank put the accuser in a headlock, and in doing so cut off their airway. The police affidavit says the accuser was afraid that they would die.
The accuser then claims to have grabbed Frank by his testicles, and squeezed until he let go. The alleged victim then told police that they began to run out of the house, and that Frank had thrown a bowl of oatmeal that contacted with the accuser’s ankle and breaking.
The broken bowl is believed to have cause several lacerations.
Once outside the house, the accuser said that they asked Frank for their personal belongings. It was then alleged that Frank turned on a hose and sprayed it at the accuser.
It is then claimed that Frank entered the home and returned with the accuser’s belongings, and threw them at the accuser.
The affidavit then says that the accuser reported that Frank then drew a bow and arrow and aimed it at them, telling them to leave.
The affidavit says the accuser felt threatened and immediately fled the area. While running, it was also reported that Frank threw a tennis-ball-sized rock at the alleged victim, striking them on back of their neck.
Officers reported being unable to locate Frank at the time the incident was reported.
Laramie County Sheriff’s Department records show that Frank was taken into custody by the Cheyenne PD, on the 1900 block of Park Avenue, in Cheyenne. The report says that he was arrested just before midnight on January 19, 2020.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Natrona County District Attorney’s Office.
