CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A Cheyenne man was arrested by the Cheyenne Police Department over the weekend and now faces a felony assault charge.
Israel Gonzalez-Orlague made his initial appearance in Laramie County Court on Tuesday, January 28th, to hear the charge of Aggravated Assault read to him.
Court documents say that on the early morning hours of January 25th, the police responded to a residence in reference to a reported verbal disturbance.
Police say that witnesses allege that Gonzalez had shoved the victim to the ground and pinned them so that they could not get up. Court papers go on to say that Gonzalez allegedly placed his hand on the victim’s throat and applied pressure until they blacked out.
Law enforcement say that they observed visible marks on the victim’s neck that were consistent to the account of the attack that was given to them. They also indicate that there were signs of a physical disturbance in the room of the house where the assault had been alleged to take place.
During his appearance in court, Gonzalez was given a $3000 cash bond by Judge Lee.
All of those cited are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
