Cheyenne man faces felony charges in connection with BB gun vandalism

Chase Harvey

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A 20-year old man was arrested by the Cheyenne Police Department and now faces two felony charges in connection to a series of BB gun vandalisms that occured in August of 2019.

Chase Harvey made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, February 25th, to hear the felony charges of Property Destruction and Conspiracy to Commit Property Destruction read to him.

The Laramie Police Department say that they responded to no less than twenty-two separate reports of vandalism between the dates of August 20th, 2019 and August 29th, 2019. They report that the acts of vandalism involved property and vehicles having glass shot with BB guns.

During the investigation, police say they made contact with Harvey in early September of 2019 on the suspicion of vandalism. Law enforcement alleges that Harvey admitted that he and another individual had shot out multiple windows around Cheyenne over the last few nights.

In a later interview with investigators, a Circuit Court affidavit says Harvey told police that he remembered shooting eight windows himself and that he was the driver for the other individual who shot out ten.

Police say that Harvey told the police that he remembered the other windows that were shot out, but couldn’t recall if he was the one who commited the vandalism himself.

The total property destruction to the eight vandalisms that Harvey allegedly admitted to is $1550.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
