CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A woman was arrested and faces multiple felonies, following a brief pursuit with police near a Cheyenne betting parlor.
Deanna Rose Ketcham made her initial court appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on February 26th, 2020 to hear the felony charges of Property Destruction and Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Liquid Form read to hear by Judge Thomas Lee.
Ketcham was also charged with misdemeanor counts of Receiving Stolen Property and Eluding.
Police say that on the evening of February 25, 2020, they observed a stopped, but running, vehicle near an Off-Track betting parlor on the 3600 block of East Lincolnway. Officers report the vehicle was listed as stolen.
An affidavit in the case says that when officers approached the vehicle they reportedly observed the driver, identified as Ketcham, unconscious inside.
When the officers ordered Ketcham to get out of the car, she reportedly sat up, put the vehicle in gear and fled.
During the attempt to flee officers say the suspect struck a parked patrol vehicle.
Ketcham then reportedly drove through a parking lot at a high rate of speed until hitting a tree. Officers say the believe Ketcham was attempting to jump a curb, causing the collision.
Ketcham then is accused of attempting to flee on foot but, was taken into custody after police say she tripped.
Cheyenne PD says that a search of the vehicle located .8 ml of suspected liquid heroin, loaded into syringes. Officers also report finding methamphetamine paraphernalia.
Police estimate that the damage done to the patrol vehicle at approximately $2000. The stolen vehicle is believed to be totaled.
A $5000 cash bond was set for Ketcham.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
