CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A 27-year old man was arrested by the Cheyenne Police Department and now stands accused of choking another person until they reportedly lost consciousness.

According to court documents, Wyatt Lamb was read a felony charge Strangulation of a Household Member and misdemeanor counts of Property Destruction and Interference With a Police Officer during his initial appearance in Laramie County Court on Friday, February 29th, 2020.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, February, 28th, 2020, Cheyenne Police say that they were dispatched to a residence in relation to a report of a domestic battery they received. Once on scene, officers made contact with the accuser who alleged that Lamb had attacked them after they had gotten into an argument.

According to court documents, the accuser told police that Lamb had struck them in the back of the head and then placed them in a choke hold from behind.

During the altercation, the alleged victim also told police that Lamb broke the screen of their cell phone.

Police say that they observed multiple injuries on the accuser, including ones that were consistent with strangulation.

An affidavit in the case describes when officers made contact with Lamb in a bedroom in the residence, that he appeared intoxicated. The police report that while interviewing Lamb they observed possible defensive wounds on his face.

Lamb is accused of physically resisting officer’s attempts to search him. It’s further claimed that he continued to resist until he was placed into a full body restraint.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the Laramie County Jail without further reported incident.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
