CASPER, Wyo. — The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday, May 13 that they have taken two suspects into custody in connection with an investigation surrounding a body discovered in Wyoming on Monday.
A body was discovered off of Carbon County Road 215. Carbon County Deputies and Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers responded, and found a male who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
The CCSO did not identify the two suspects who were taken into custody.
In the hours following the discovery of the body, CCSO announced they were seeking a person of interest, who was identified as a juvenile. They said on Tuesday that persons of interest were taken into custody in Utah on Monday.
Whether the two suspects which the CCSO said on Wednesday are the same as those taken into custody in Utah was not made clear in the press release. The CCSO did not immediately respond to Oil City’s call for clarification on Wednesday. Oil City will provide updates if further details become available.
The CCSO says that formal charges against the suspects in the case are pending their office’s review.
“Multiple tips have been provided to the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office,” the release adds. “These tips, along with other investigative leads are being followed up on.”
“The investigation into this matter continues.”
The CCSO say there are no threats to the safety of the community at this time.
