Woman faces Methamphetamine and marijuana charges following traffic stop

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – According to court papers, a 48-year old woman was arrested by the Cheyenne Police Department after they say they discovered suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in her car during a traffic stop.

Police say that one of their officers conducted a traffic stop on Diana Steerman during the early morning hours of May 17th, 2020.

Law enforcement officials allege that during the traffic stop the officer located a large plastic ziplock bag containing 5.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine. The search also uncovered a container with suspected marijuana wax between a seat and the center console.

According to police, while being transported to the Laramie County Detention Center, Steerman became uncooperative with jail deputies.

During her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court, Steerman was read the felony charge of Possession of Methamphetamine as well as a single count of misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana by Judge Denise Nau,

Steerman was given a $2000 cash bond.


All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
