A Natrona County man is facing two felony drug charges, after it was alleged that he smoked THC “dabs” with a minor. The minor reportedly passed out and was taken to an area hospital following the incident.
According to an affidavit filed in Natrona County Circuit Court, 38-year-old Aaron Kyle Lowman is facing charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance- THC and Possession of THC Wax. Court documents go on to say that the felony Possession charge stems from it being a third or subsequent potential offense.
Agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation say that they received a call during the morning hours of June 8, 2020. The reporting party said that a minor in their care had been given drugs.
Deputies met the caller and the minor at an area clinic, where the caller and minor had previously been headed. During the contact it was reported that the minor’s condition worsened, and including vomiting and ultimately passing out. The minor was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
DCI reports that the adult who had been with the minor reported that the minor had obtained drugs from an adult neighbor.
Later that morning DCI agents spoke with the teenage minor who alleged they had gone to a neighbor’s house to obtain a cigarette, and was offered “dabs” while at the residence.
Dabs are concentrated doses of cannabis, or marijuana, that can be superheated and smoked. The minor said that they had two hits, and that the neighbor was smoking with them.
The neighbor, identified by investigators as Lowman, was contacted at approximately 3:30 pm, June 8. During the contact with law enforcement, Lowman admitted to providing the THC to the minor, the affidavit quoting the suspect as saying he wanted to be the “cool” adult.
Lowman also denied knowing the minor was under the age of eighteen, saying that he had seen them smoking cigarettes and assumed they were an adult.
A subsequent search of Lowman’s home yielded a dab rig with suspected marijuana residue, four containers of THC residue, and THC wax weighing approximately 9.5 grams without packaging.
Agents note in the affidavit that Lowman had two previous convictions for Possession of Marijuana.
All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.
