Police arrest man on Meth and Marijuana Possession charges

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A 35-year old man was arrested by the Cheyenne Police Department and now faces two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Court documents say that Michael Vallez Jr made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on August 12th, 2020 to hear the two felony charges io Possession of a Controlled Substances read to him.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, police officers were dispatched to a motel in Cheyenne on August 6th, 2020 to investigate a report of people occupying an unrented room without authorization.

Police say that when they went to the room in question they made contact with Michael Vallez.

“Vallez seemed nervous due to my presence and eventually admitted he believed he possessed felony warrants out of Colorado for Robbery,” the officer reported in the affidavit.

Court documents say that investigators confirmed that Vallez did in fact have warrants out of Larimer County, Colorado that were valid for nationwide extradition.

Police report that while Vallez was being placed into custody that he advised the officer he was in possession of a small baggie of marijuana that was rolled up in his right sock.

“I seized the approximately 1.5 x 1.15 sized jewel baggie with suspected marijuana and observed what appeared to be methamphetamine residue with the bag as well,” the officer stated.

Vallez told authorities that the substance was methamphetamine.

Law enforcement says that after reviewing his criminal history, they saw numerous drug possessions charges against Vallez, however just one prior conviction out of this jurisdiction.

Investigators also spoke with officials at the Laramie County Circuit Court who confirmed two other cases in which Vallez pled guilty to Possession of Powdery Substance charges.

If convicted on both felony charges, Vallez could face up to 10 years in prison and or a fine of up to 10k.
