Police in Rock Springs say that a vehicle that was used to flee Wyoming law enforcement, has been tied to a Utah bank robbery. Two individuals who were in the vehicle at the time of the Wyoming chase remain at large.

Photos of suspects and the suspect vehicle, released by the RSPD, are below.

The vehicle was recovered on November 20, 2020 after fleeing from police earlier in the day. Rock Springs Police officials say the vehicle had been occupied by two suspects. When recovered, the vehicle was said to be abandoned.

Police say that after investigation, the vehicle was found to be rented to a man identified as Jared Freeland, who is reportedly wanted for bank robbery in Utah.

Freeland is described as a white male, 6’2”, and 215 lbs.

Rock Springs Police Officers say they originally responded to a Sweetwater County workout gym on November 20, for reports of a backpack that had been stolen from a locker room. The victim in the theft is said to have had their debit card used at nearby grocery store to buy multiple gift cards.

One suspect is described as a white male, who was reported to be wearing a red hoodie, grey sweatpants, and a two-tone ball cap.

A second suspect is described as a white male wearing a grey undershirt and a dark-colored hoodie with dark sunglasses.

“The suspects also attempted to cash the victim’s personal check at the Rock Springs National Bank but were unsuccessful,” RSPD said Friday afternoon.

Officers report attempting to stop on a black 2020 Nissan Altima four-door driven by the suspects in the case. RSPD alleges that the driver failed to stop and fled the area.

The vehicle was later discovered abandoned and was found to be a rental belonging to Freeland.

“If you recognize any of the three suspects, contact Officer Tiffany Harris with the Rock Springs Police Department at 307-352-1575,” RSPD says. Tips can also be sent to the Rock Springs Police Department Facebook page.

All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the appropriate prosecuting office.
