Authorities seize 200 lbs of suspected marijuana following pullover in Laramie County

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – According to a release from the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), law enforcement seized 200 pounds of suspected marijuana this past December during a traffic stop on I-80.

The LCSO says that On December, 20th, 2020, Troopers from the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) requested assistance from a K9 unit.

“K9 Hilde from the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office responded with her handler, Sergeant Gilmore, to I-80 mile marker 357,” LCSO officials stated.

Authorities report that the WHP had stopped a combination tractor-trailer unit that was hauling apples from Washington state to Florida.

“Hilde alerted to the odor of illegal substances at the cab of the combination unit. Inside the cab unit were 8 suitcases which contained suspected marijuana,” the release from the LCSO went on to say.

The total weight of marijuana was reported to be 200lbs.
