Man faces charge of Aggravated Assault

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A 25-year old man was arrested after it was alleged that he physically attacked another person.

According to court paperwork, Charles Jolley was arrested by the Cheyenne Police Department on the recommended charge of Aggravated Assault On April 3rd, 2021.

Police say that they were dispatched to an address within the city limits during the afternoon hours of April 3rd to investigate a report of domestic violence, an affidavit of probable cause states. 

Upon arriving on scene, officers made contact with an accuser who alleged that Jolley had physically attacked them after a verbal disagreement. Court documents reveal that the accuser told authorities that Jolly had grabbed them by their elbow and then threw them across a room.

A witness told authorities that they observed Jolley scream at the accuser before striking them in the stomach.

Jolley made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circut Court on April 12th, 2021 to hear the felony charge of Aggravated Assault read to him.  If convicted, the Jolley could face a fine of up to $10,000 and a maximum prison sentence of 10 years, according to Wyoming criminal statutes.
