A pickup truck that the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office say was reported stolen last July has been recovered. Deputies say they observed the vehicle being towed in the Cheyenne area by another private pickup truck.

An affidavit of probable cause filed in Laramie County Circuit Court says that LCSO deputies were patrolling near the 700 block of East Allison Road, in Laramie County on November 19, when they observed a black Dodge truck being towed by another pickup. Sheriff’s officials report that there were no working lights on the towed vehicle, and that it was dark at the time of the contact.

Sheriff’s officials contacted the driver of the black Dodge, who claimed ownership of the vehicle. However after deputies checked records, they found that the Dodge had been reported stolen over the summer.

The driver claimed that he had traded another vehicle for the Dodge truck in approximately July. However investigators note that the suspect was unable to produce a title.

The suspect; identified as Wayne Edgar Rosson, born in 1968; was arrested and transported to the Laramie County jail. At a November 22 hearing, he was charged with a count of felony Theft. All of those cited or arrested are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. Charges are subject to change following official filings from the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office.

Rosson was also given a cash only bond amount of $2,000. He will face a Preliminary hearing early next month to see if the charge against him will head to District Court
