CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries Monday evening when he was struck on East Lincolnway by a driver who is suspected of DUI, the Cheyenne Police Department reported.
Police said Bryan Ciccone, 45, of Cheyenne, was driving a Lincoln MKZ west on Lincolnway when he struck an adult man walking along the shoulder of the road near the intersection with Pinion Drive at about 5 p.m.
Ciccone appeared in Laramie County Circuit Court this morning for an initial appearance. The judge set his bond at $10,000 cash only.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police did not provide an update on his condition in Tuesday’s news release.
Ciccone was also taken to the hospital for evaluation, and after his release he was booked into Laramie County Jail on charges of DUI causing serious bodily injury, leaving the roadway and possession of marijuana, police said.
Ciccone was the sole occupant of the Lincoln and was not injured, police said.
“Due to the severity of the pedestrian’s injuries, the Cheyenne Police Department’s Major Crash Unit is taking over the investigation. This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department,” the release stated.
