Man sentenced to 24 months after assaulting partner in Wyoming

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A man has been sentenced to 24 months in federal prison after he assaulted his partner.

Judge Alan B. Johnson handed down the sentence to Reland Leonard Hiwalker on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the federal court in Cheyenne.

Hiwalker will be imprisoned for 24 months, to be followed by three years of supervised release, during which he will have no contact with the victim.

Hiwalker was arrested after he assaulted his partner by strangling them on May 10, 2022.
