CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A Wyoming Highway Patrol K-9 helped in finding over 200 pounds of marijuana over the weekend.
On Oct. 20 around 1:16 p.m., a trooper in the Elk Mountain area stopped a vehicle traveling on I-80 for a traffic infraction. After the driver gave inconsistent statements, the trooper detained the driver.
Another trooper responded and deployed his K-9 partner, Bailey, who alerted him to an illegal substance when searching the vehicle.
The resulting search yielded approximately 221 pounds of marijuana.
The driver was arrested and booked into the Carbon County Detention Center on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and failure to maintain a single lane of travel.
