CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a brief summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department and the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office.
Aggravated Assault, Sept. 13, East Lincolnway, Cheyenne Police
Police responded to the 1900 block of East Lincolnway at 8:38 p.m. for a report of an aggravated assault. On scene, an officer detained Anthony Moralez, 48, after he was found walking away. The investigation led officers to believe that Moralez had charged at someone with a screwdriver. He was charged with a felony — aggravated assault with a weapon — and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
Burglary, Sept. 13, Campstool Road and Kennedy Road, Cheyenne Police
At 8:45 a.m. at Lake Absarraca, officers made contact with a 48-year-old man sleeping in a vehicle. The man told police he was a transient who was camping there with his 30-year-old girlfriend. Detectives learned there was a probable cause warrant for burglary on both of them. The man was taken to the police department, where he became uncooperative and damaged the interview room door with his crutches before he attempted to fight with detectives, a booking sheet states. He was additionally charged with damaging property and interference. The woman was later found on the 1000 block of Kennedy Road. She was initially detained for questioning and later charged with burglary.
Public Intoxication and Drug Possession, Sept. 13, Adams Avenue, Cheyenne Police
An officer responded at 6:02 p.m. to the 900 block of Adams Avenue, where they found a 23-year-old man experiencing rapid mood swings. He appeared to be unable to control his movements, a booking sheet states, and he would laugh at odd times. Officers said they found marijuana on him. He was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and charged with public intoxication and possession of less than a quarter-ounce of marijuana.
Possession of Methamphetamine, Sept. 13, West Lincolnway, Cheyenne Police
Police have charged Brad Alan Slizeski, 62, with felony possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor plate light after a traffic stop at 10:30 p.m. on West Lincolnway at Thomes Avenue. An officer stopped Slizeski for having no license plate light, and during the stop a K-9 officer indicated the presence of drugs. A vehicle search revealed what police suspect is a felony amount of methamphetamine, according to a booking sheet. The driver was charged and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
