CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Two men are facing felony charges on the suspicion of attempted marijuana delivery after a traffic stop by the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office for lane use violations.

Charged are Gary E. Young, 48, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Earnest J. Johnnie, 59, of Brooklyn, New York. Both were booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on felony counts of marijuana possession, drug conspiracy and sale/delivery of marijuana.

A sheriff’s office booking sheet states a deputy stopped their vehicle at mile marker 359 on Interstate 80 for two lane use violations in short order. Johnnie was driving. The deputy reported the men told him the vehicle was a rental, but they could not provide the rental paperwork.

A Wyoming Highway Patrol K-9 unit arrived on scene and was deployed. The K-9 indicated the presence of drugs on the passenger side of the car, the document states. Searching the vehicle, the deputy reportedly found 65 pounds of suspected marijuana in the trunk.

Both men were taken into custody and booked into the local jail without incident.
