Laramie County Crime Clips (11/15/23–11/16/23)

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a brief summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

DUI, Central Avenue and West 9th Street, Nov. 15, CPD

A 39-year-old man is facing a misdemeanor charge for driving under the influence.

At 6:53 p.m., a Cheyenne officer contacted the man at the intersection of Central Avenue and West 9th Street, according to a booking sheet. The 39-year-old was initially unconscious in a running vehicle but woke up after the officer made contact with him. The officer states the man spoke with slurred speech and had red, watery eyes and poor balance.

The officer states the man refused to take a standard field sobriety test and chemical test. The man was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, and the officer applied for and received a search warrant for the man’s blood. After the man took the blood test, he was transported to Laramie County Detention Center and booked.

The 39-year-old’s court date is set for 9:30 a.m. Nov. 29 in Cheyenne Municipal Court.

Driving under Suspension, Cleveland Avenue and East 17th Street, Nov. 15, CPD

Officers arrested a 30-year-old man for driving with a suspended license after having been previously charged with the same offense.

The officers stopped a man driving a Chevrolet who was failing to stay in his lane while driving at around 3:25 a.m., according to a booking sheet. The officers made contact with the man and confirmed he was driving with a suspended license and that he was previously charged at least twice for driving with the same suspended license. The man was placed under arrest and taken to Laramie County Detention Facility.

The 30-year-old’s court date is set for 9:30 a.m. Nov. 28 in Laramie County Circuit Court.

Public Intoxication, East 23rd Street, Nov. 15, CPD

A 60-year-old man is facing a misdemeanor charge for public intoxication.

A Cheyenne police officer was dispatched to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center at 8:50 p.m. The officer received a report that a man was discharged from the facility and that he was drunk and refusing to leave the property, a booking sheet states.

The officer made contact with the man, whom he states had watery eyes, slurred speech, poor balance and a smell of alcohol. The officer took the man to jail.

The 60-year-old’s court date is set for 9:30 a.m. Dec. 4 in Cheyenne Municipal Court.
