CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a brief summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Drug Possession, Livingston Avenue, Nov. 16, CPD

Cheyenne police are charging a 31-year-old man with misdemeanor drug possession as a result of a warrant arrest on the 500 block of Livingston Avenue at about 2:30 p.m.

The man is charged with possession of heroin and possession of a controlled substance in pill or capsule form in addition to his arrest on a failure to pay warrant and probation violation warrant.

A booking sheet states an officer patrolling the area conducted a registration query on an occupied parked car, which returned with the two active warrants. Conducting a stop, the officer took the man into custody on the warrants.

The officer said when the man exited the car, he dropped a plastic tube that was melted on one end. The officer’s K-9 partner indicated there were drugs in the vehicle. A search revealed about 10 pieces of tin foil with suspected fentanyl residue and a baggie of suspected heroin weighing 0.5 grams.

The man was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident.

Joyriding, New York Road, Nov. 16, LCSO

Laramie County Sheriff’s Office deputies are charging a 43-year-old Cheyenne woman with misdemeanor joyriding for unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Deputies say the woman was authorized to use the owner’s car on Nov. 9 and was supposed to return it that day, but she kept it for over a week. The car was then reported stolen. As of the woman’s arrest, the car had not been recovered.

She was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.

DUI, Nationway, Nov. 16, CPD

A 29-year-old Cheyenne man is facing his second DUI charge in 10 years and a charge of failure to maintain a lane after police received a report from the public about the man’s driving.

A responding officer found the vehicle traveling on Ridge Road, where it rolled through the stoplight at Nationway, crossing into the far left lane while turning right. The officer stopped the vehicle and approached the driver, who was upset about the traffic stop, a booking sheet states.

The driver declined to participate in roadside sobriety tests. The officer sought and received a warrant for a blood draw on the suspect. He was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for the blood draw, and then taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
