CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a brief summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Theft Incident, South Greeley Highway, Dec. 20, LCSO
A 34-year-old Cheyenne woman faces charges of theft and resisting arrest after deputies responded to a report on the 1600 block of South Greeley Highway at approximately 10:34 a.m. Deputies were dispatched following a description broadcast over police channels.
A deputy located a woman on the 700 block of West College Drive matching the suspect’s description and possessing visible stolen items, according to the booking sheet. Upon contact, the suspect defied police commands and resisted arrest.
Despite the struggle, deputies succeeded in handcuffing her and, adhering to department policy, restrained her using the WRAP system for transport.
The suspect continued to resist while being placed in the patrol car but was eventually transported to the Laramie County Detention Center without further incident.
