CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Pedestrian Violation and Resisting Arrest, East Lincolnway, Dec. 27, CPD

Cheyenne Police Department officers were involved in an incident on East Lincolnway on Dec. 27 around 2:51 a.m. The situation unfolded when an officer saw an individual walking in the middle of the roadway, in violation of pedestrian safety laws.

Despite repeated requests to stop, the individual continued to walk away, ignoring the officer’s instructions, according to the CPD booking sheet. When the officer attempted to apprehend the suspect, she actively resisted by pulling her arms away during the handcuffing process.

Subsequently, the individual was arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Facility. She was booked on charges of walking in the roadway when a sidewalk was present and interfering with police procedures.

Trespass and Resisting Arrest, East 23rd Street, Dec. 27, CPD

The Cheyenne Police Department responded to a call regarding trespass/unwanted persons near the 200 block of East 23rd Street at around 4:15 p.m. Officers made contact with a suspect near the intersection of House Avenue and East 22nd Street.

The individual, instructed to remain for questioning, repeatedly attempted to walk away and tried to shove past the officers. Upon resistance, the officers executed a rear takedown and subsequently handcuffed the suspect after a brief struggle.

During the arrest, a search revealed the possession of a plastic container with suspected marijuana residue and a small bag with suspected methamphetamine residue, according to CPD booking sheets. The suspect was taken to jail, but became uncooperative with the booking deputies and was placed in a holding cell.

The charges against the individual included interference with a peace officer, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.
