CHEYENNE, Wyo. — In a recent development in the stolen vehicle case involving a 2011 black Ford Expedition, Anthony Gello, a suspect linked to the case, has been arrested by the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department.
On Nov. 14, 2023, Deputy Adam Wright was dispatched to East Fox Farm Road for a stolen vehicle report. A black Ford Expedition, owned by Scott Bressette, had been left by a DUI suspect to whom he had lent the vehicle prior to her arrest. Charges on her credit card, which had been left in the vehicle, led deputies to another woman’s home, where the vehicle was found.
The woman at the home claimed another man sold the vehicle to Gello, who was supposedly at work. The vehicle had a temporary registration in Gello’s name and contained a title and bill of sale with incomplete details. Both appeared to be filled out in the same ink.
In the vehicle, officers found a temporary ID for a Michael Guzman and a check, alongside an enlarged copy of Guzman’s ID with Gello’s picture on it. The real Guzman is serving a sentence in federal prison, adding suspicion to Gello’s possession of such documents, a court affidavit states.
Gello’s possession of the Expedition, valued at $1,500, was deemed illegal due to incomplete documentation. The original plates were not recovered with the vehicle, and Gello could not be found.
On Jan. 9, Deputy Martinez was dispatched to the 400 block of Avenue D for a wanted person. Gello, spotted at his car, ran into his residence but eventually complied with officers’ commands and was taken into custody.
Gello refused his first court appearance on Jan. 11, according to deputies at the detention center, and was set a $10,000 cash bond.
The Laramie County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate this case, piecing together the details of the illegal possession of the vehicle.
