CASPER, Wyo. — Two suspects were arrested Thursday and charged with manslaughter in the death of Stacey “Jason” Mullen, who was found beaten at Curt Gowdy State Park last summer.
Laramie County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Gizelle Kellum, 55, and Russell Perry, 54, according to an agency release on Thursday. Wyoming State Parks rangers found Mullen unresponsive in the park on the morning of Aug. 20, 2023. Seeing that Mullen had been assaulted, deputies were contacted.
Mullen succumbed to his injuries. It was believed that he had been assaulted at an unknown location and left at Curt Gowdy late Saturday night, Aug. 19.
“[The sheriff’s office] extends gratitude to the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation’s Information Analysis Team, Laramie County Fire Authority, and the Wyoming State Crime Lab for their collaboration,” the release said. “We also appreciate the public and businesses providing valuable information and video surveillance.”
