CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Shoplifting and Warrant Arrest, Near Livingston Avenue, Jan. 11, CPD

At around 8:38 p.m., Officer Federer was dispatched to a shoplifting incident near the 500 block of Livingston Avenue. The suspect attempted to leave the store with approximately $765 worth of merchandise, claiming her in-store app malfunctioned, according to booking sheets.

A dispatch check confirmed she had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for failure to comply with an initial charge of felony forgery. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Facility without further incident.

DUI and Speeding, US 30 near Polk Avenue, Jan. 10, CPD

At around 11:44 p.m., Officer McClaskey conducted a traffic stop on US 30 near Polk Avenue for a vehicle speeding at 68 mph in a 55 mph zone. The driver exhibited signs of alcohol impairment with bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, according to a police report.

After failing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and a breath test showing a 0.136 BAC, Fowler was arrested for a second DUI offense in 10 years and speeding. He was then taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.

Eluding and DUI, Interstate 80 near Milepost 362, Jan. 11, WHP

At around 12:01 a.m., Sergeant Powell responded to a vehicle pursuit initiated by Cheyenne police with a red passenger car on Interstate 80 westbound from exit 362. Police initially tried to stop the vehicle for missing a license plate light and being stopped at a green light. The vehicle then began trying to elude police at speeds of 50–60 mph, according to booking sheets.

After a tactical vehicle intervention near milepost 353, the driver was apprehended. He exhibited signs of alcohol impairment and refused the implied consent advisement. Following a granted search warrant, a blood draw was obtained at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. The driver was then taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
