CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Names for misdemeanor citations have been removed.
Attempted Vehicle Break-in, Fox Farm Road and Mcfarland Avenue, Feb. 1, CPD
Officer Peden was dispatched in response to an attempted vehicle break-in reported in the area of Fox Farm Road and Mcfarland Avenue. The suspect, described as wearing a black and red flannel and carrying a white bag, was located on Walterscheid near I-80.
The individual, who initially gave a false name and refused to provide identification, was arrested for refusing to obey. He made suicidal statements en route to the Laramie County Detention Facility and was placed in a holding cell upon arrival.
Attempted Vehicle Burglary and Arrest, West 10th Street, Feb. 1, CPD
Early in the day, police responded to a report of an attempted vehicle burglary on West 10th Street. Subsequently, a possibly stolen vehicle was located on the 800 block of West 9th Street. A male, matching the suspect’s description and appearing intoxicated, was detained in an alley nearby.
Upon a consent search, he was found in possession of a suspected methamphetamine. He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and public intoxication, then booked at the Laramie County Detention Facility without further incident.
