Disturbance Leads to Arrest for Multiple Charges, Feb. 7, CPD
On Tuesday, Feb. 6, at around 10:33 a.m., Cheyenne police officers responded to a disturbance call on the 5300 block of Greybull Avenue. The incident began when a Board of Public Utilities technician, addressing a months-past-due bill, had his encounter with a local resident escalate into a violent confrontation, according to police booking sheets.
After the technician shut off the water supply due to non-payment, the homeowner emerged, hurling objects and eventually arming himself first with a pickaxe, then a baseball bat and finally a knife, causing damage to the technician’s vehicle and threatening physical harm.
Authorities were called to the scene, where the homeowner was found to be uncooperative, leading to a tense situation. Further investigation revealed the homeowner had also violated a protection order, adding to his charges. The following morning, on Feb. 7, law enforcement officials executed a warrant for stalking.
