CHEYENNE, Wyo. — The Cheyenne Police Department has named the individual killed in an early morning shooting March 23.
Cortaevius Williams, 25, was pronounced deceased at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center on Saturday. Police have detained and charged 23-year-old Antonio Navarrete with first-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault.
Williams was shot at a residence on the 100 block of King Court after being involved in an altercation at a bar around 12:30 a.m., the CPD states in its original news release. Police did not initially identify the victim publicly.
The department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
