CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Names for misdemeanor citations have been removed.
Disturbing Peace and Property, East 23rd Street, March 27, CPD
Police are charging a 33-year-old man with disturbing peace and property and resisting arrest after responding to a trespassing report on the 200 block of East 23rd Street at 11:41 a.m. March 27.
Police said they were told by Cheyenne Regional Medical Center staff that the man was refusing to leave the premises despite being medically cleared. He was told to leave and refused.
Speaking with a doctor, police were told the man made references to self harm after being told he needed to leave the premises. The man talked about an officer harming him and hit himself in the face, a booking sheet states. The officer grabbed his hands, and at first he refused orders to allow officers control of his other arm. Officers gained control, and the man began to cooperate after being told he would be placed in restraints if he did not.
The man was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
Shoplifting, Livingston Avenue, March 27, CPD
A 27-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a charge of shoplifting under $100 on second or subsequent offense after police were called to the 500 block of Livingston Avenue for a reported shoplifting.
Police believed the man shoplifted from Walmart, and dispatchers confirmed the man had four prior shoplifting offenses, a booking sheet states.
The man was arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
