CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A Cheyenne man is facing multiple charges following a domestic incident and subsequent police chase in Cheyenne on May 30. Kent Richard Embree Jr., 35, was arrested for domestic battery, strangulation of a household member, fleeing from officers and drug possession. His preliminary hearing is set for June 13, with a $12,000 cash bond.
The Cheyenne Police Department responded to a distress call on Frontier Street at around 3:13 p.m. A woman sent her coworker a coded message indicating she was in danger, according to booking sheets. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with visible injuries, including scratches and bruises. She reported that Embree had assaulted her over the past two days.
The victim had multiple injuries, including a nearly swollen-shut right eye. Officers noted that she limped and held her ribs, indicating further injuries, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
When officers attempted to contact Embree at the residence, he fled in a black Audi. Police initiated a pursuit after spotting his vehicle on Morrie Avenue. The chase ended at Fox Farm Road and South Greeley Highway, where Embree was apprehended. A search of the vehicle revealed a baggie of suspected methamphetamine.
