Laramie County Crime Clips (8/26/24–8/27/24)

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Names for misdemeanor citations have been removed.

Public Intoxication, Snyder Avenue, Aug. 26, CPD

Cheyenne police are charging a 32-year-old Cheyenne man with public intoxication after responding to a report of a man passed out in the street at around 10:08 p.m.

A booking sheet states an officer found the man lying face down on Snyder Avenue on the west side of the road. The man was belligerent toward his mother, and he smelled of alcohol. The officer arrested him as he lay in the street.

Once he was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, he became uncooperative and was taken to a holding cell before the booking process was complete, the document states.

Drug Possession, Cheyenne, Aug. 26, CPD

Steven Wayne Tyndall, 43, of Cheyenne, is charged with third-plus felony possession of controlled substance after police were called to a retail store on the 500 block of Central Avenue on Aug. 23.

Store employees told police that a woman in a gold PT Cruiser had shoplifted from the store. The woman and Tyndall were found in the car. During the investigation, officers deployed their K-9 for a free-air sniff around Tyndall’s Cruiser. The K-9 indicated to the odor of a controlled substance in the car, a booking sheet states.

Officers searching the vehicle reportedly found a piece of aluminum foil inside the driver’s-seat sun visor. Inside was a blue pill inscribed with M and 30, which police suspected was a fentanyl pill. Tyndall was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.

On Aug. 26, police said they executed a search warrant at Tyndall’s home on the 100 block of West 5th Street, where they found a black safe bolted to the floor of the bedroom. Inside, they found 0.57 grams of methamphetamine and another suspected fentanyl pill, the document states. They also reported finding plastic baggies and a digital safe.

Disturbing the Peace, Copperville Road, Aug. 26, CPD

A 43-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing two counts of disturbing the peace and a count each of resisting arrest and interfering/obstructing after police were called to the 1800 block of Copperville Road at 5:35 p.m.

Police at the scene were told the woman entered someone’s house without their permission. After she left that house, she entered another person’s home without permission, the booking sheet states. She was found near the homes and she refused to stop or identify herself. Eventually, she provided an alias, police said.

She was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center.
