CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A Cheyenne man was arrested on Sept. 14 on Barbell Court, and is facing multiple felony charges, including motor vehicle theft and possession of methamphetamine.
Austin Levi Daniel, 26, was taken into custody by Cheyenne Police after officers responded to a report of a suspicious motorcycle behind the 3000 block of Barbell Court. Officer Rodriquez, upon arriving on the scene, found Daniel working on the motorcycle. Daniel had a prior warrant for failure to appear on previous charges of possession of methamphetamine and attempting to elude police, according to booking sheets.
The investigation linked Daniel to a recent motor vehicle theft case involving a black 2001 Dodge Ram 2500, reported stolen earlier in the week by Robert Baker, also of Cheyenne. According to the affidavit, Baker’s pickup was taken from outside his home, and he later identified Daniel as one of the suspects through social media messages and photographs provided by a neighbor, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
During the arrest, Daniel was found with tools suspected to be used for burglary, as well as 0.42 grams of methamphetamine. The motorcycle, which had its ignition tampered with, was also determined to be stolen.
Daniel now faces charges of felony theft, possession of burglary tools and possession of methamphetamine. He was set an $11,000 bail in Laramie Circuit Court on Sept. 16, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 23.
