CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Names for misdemeanor citations have been removed.
Public intoxication, Pershing Boulevard, Sept. 23, CPD
Around 3:22 a.m., Cheyenne police arrested a 25-year-old woman near East Pershing Boulevard and Taft Avenue for public intoxication. Officers responded to reports of a woman lying in the road and found her stumbling along the sidewalk.
She displayed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and erratic behavior. The woman became verbally aggressive with officers before being taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident.
Interference with a peace officer, Storey Boulevard, Sept. 23, CPD
Around 8:42 p.m., Cheyenne police arrested a 31-year-old male near Storey Boulevard for interference with a peace officer and negligent burning. Officers responded to reports of a fire alarm triggered by smoke in the man’s apartment after he locked himself out while cooking.
Firefighters entered the smoke-filled apartment and extinguished the source, but the man became hostile toward officers during questioning. He was arrested after approaching officers aggressively and was later taken to the Laramie County Detention Center following medical clearance.
