Pine Bluffs Police Deparment

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Pine Bluffs police arrested 36-year-old Seth A. Maxwell on Sunday, Sept. 22 after responding to a domestic disturbance that involved a suspected stolen firearm and drugs.

Chief Austin Smith from the Pine Bluffs Police Department responded to a call about an argument between a man and a woman. The man, Maxwell, was reportedly carrying a rifle case. Officers were unable to locate him at first but later found him at an Exxon gas station carrying the case, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Upon inspection, officers discovered that the rifle in Maxwell’s possession was a Palmetto State Armory PA-15, which had been reported stolen from Arapaho, Colorado. During a search, officers also found 2.4 grams of methamphetamine in Maxwell’s wallet, according to booking sheets.

Maxwell was taken into custody and booked into the Laramie County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and theft of a firearm.
