Cheyenne man arrested for aggravated assault with metal pipe

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Mark Romain Dunn, 60, made his initial court appearance on Oct. 4 after his arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The Cheyenne man is accused of threatening another individual with a metal pipe during an altercation on Oct. 3.

The incident took place at an apartment on McCann Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Police responded to a trespassing call at the location. Officer McClaskey encountered Dunn near the south side of Albertson’s on East Pershing Boulevard. Dunn told officers he had gone to the apartment to retrieve a coat from the victim, with whom he previously lived, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

According to the victim, Dunn swung a metal pipe while threatening to kill him. The victim was not injured in the incident. Police arrested Dunn without further issue and took him to the Laramie County Detention Center.

During his initial court appearance, Dunn’s bond was set at $7,000 cash. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 11.
