CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Names for misdemeanor citations have been removed.

Unlawful Use of 911 & Possession of Methamphetamine-Type Drug, Faith Drive, Nov. 15, CPD

A Cheyenne man was arrested for improperly using the 911 emergency system and possessing an illicit drug.

At around 5:30 a.m. Friday, a police officer responded to a 911 call at a residence on Faith Drive, per a booking sheet. The officer contacted the responding party, who called 911 somewhere from five to 10 times stating he believed someone was trying to break into his residence from behind the refrigerator. Officers had recently been at the property to inspect the man’s claims but found no indication of foul play.

The man who called 911 showed signs of being under the influence, according to the booking sheet. Officers found Adderall pills in the man’s pocket. He refused to go to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Police placed him into custody and took him to the county detention center.

DUI & Use of a Controlled Substance, Interstate 80, Nov. 15, LCSO

A Wheatland man has been charged with six misdemeanor offenses related to drug use and driving violations.

A highway trooper pulled over a driver Friday for failing to use a turn signal on Interstate 80, according to a booking sheet. The trooper made contact with the man and observed he was speaking with thick, slurred speech and was portraying fidgety behavior. The driver admitted to taking meth two days prior as well. The man consented to a field sobriety test.

The trooper obtained enough evidence to determine the Wheatland man was driving under the influence, per the booking sheet. The officer also found suspected meth and a glass pipe in the man’s vehicle. The man was placed under arrest and refused to submit a chemical test. He was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, and his blood was drawn after a search warrant was granted. The trooper later took him to the county detention center.
