Judge addresses plea deals, sentencing, and bond decisions in latest Circuit Court proceedings

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Judge Thomas Lee presided over hearings in Laramie County Circuit Court on Nov. 20, addressing a range of cases involving plea agreements, probation sentences and bond modifications.

Sentencing and Plea Agreements

  • Jordyn Duran pleaded guilty to driving under suspension and driving without registration, with other charges dismissed under a plea agreement. She was sentenced to 60 days with 42 suspended for six months’ probation, fined $100 per charge and assessed $70 in court fees. Duran received credit for 18 days time served, and $1,000 in public defender fees were waived due to inability to pay.
  • Jerome Charles Goggles was sentenced to 60 days with 27 suspended for six months’ probation on an unlawful contact charge. He was given credit for 33 days’ time served and assessed $220 in court fees. $250 in public defender fees were waived for inability to pay.
  • Teray Haynes pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance and duty upon colliding. Haynes received credit for 33 days’ time served and was sentenced to 45 days imposed for possession. He was fined $100 for the duty upon colliding charge. Court costs and public defender fees totaling $470 were waived.
  • Rachel R. Brewster pleaded guilty to speeding, with a possession of a controlled substance charge dismissed as part of a plea agreement. The judge, questioning the agreement, stated, “I can’t force the state to prosecute cases.” Brewster was fined $150 for the speeding charge.
  • Rainey Sue Wittig pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance. She was sentenced to 90 days with 78 suspended for one year probation. Wittig was offered a 45-day imposed sentence but opted for probation, expressing confidence in her ability to comply. She was credited with 12 days’ time served and assessed $70 in court costs, with $250 in public defender fees and $150 in victim compensation fees waived.

Arraignments

  • Joey Guidry pleaded not guilty to charges including possession of controlled substances, DUI and defrauding a drug test. A scheduling conference is set for March 2025. A proposed bond reduction was denied due to insufficient information.
  • Joshua Peter Hernandez pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including eluding, reckless driving and possession of a controlled substance. Bond was modified to $3,000 concurrent across all dockets. A scheduling conference is set for March 2025.
  • Kyree Payne-Larimore pleaded not guilty to charges of eluding, interference, battery and traffic violations. A scheduling conference was set for March 2025.

Failures to Appear

  • Dajha Stratton failed to appear, and the hearing was rescheduled for one week later.
