CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Cheyenne, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Cheyenne Police Department, the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office and the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Names for misdemeanor citations have been removed.

Public Intoxication, West Lincolnway, Jan. 14, CPD

A 53-year-old transient Cheyenne woman was arrested for public intoxication after being involved in a disturbance near a downtown bar.

At 8 p.m., Officer Peden of the Cheyenne Police Department responded to reports of a physical disturbance at a bar near the 200 block of West Lincolnway. Upon arrival, the officer was informed the woman had left the location and was walking east.

She was located near Lincolnway and Capitol Avenue, where Officer Peden observed she had difficulty maintaining her balance and showed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and nystagmus in her eyes. The woman was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on a charge of public intoxication.


DUI and Property Damage, Persons Road, Jan. 14, LCSO

A 42-year-old Cheyenne man was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and causing felony-level property damage while huffing inhalants.

Deputy Herlihey responded to a residence on Persons Road after reports of a man inhaling substances and driving erratically. The suspect admitted to huffing and driving, and officers found two canisters of Dust Off in his possession.

He caused over $1,000 in property damage during the incident. The man was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.


Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, Fox Farm Road, Jan. 14, LCSO

A 59-year-old transient Cheyenne man was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender.

Deputy Grover stopped the man near Avenue C and Fox Farm Road after confirming he had not updated his employment information or registered during his required period as a transient in early January. The man was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center without incident.


DUI and Speeding, Interstate 25, Jan. 14, WHP

A 49-year-old Cheyenne man was arrested for driving under the influence, speeding and careless driving after being stopped for traveling 112 mph in a 75 mph zone.

Trooper Pushcar of the Wyoming Highway Patrol observed the man driving a yellow passenger car south on Interstate 25 near milepost 8 at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was clocked at 112 mph.

During the traffic stop, the driver displayed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and the odor of alcohol, and admitted to drinking. Field sobriety tests indicated impairment, and subsequent breath tests showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.109% and 0.117%. The man was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.
