Public Intoxication, near Concord Road, Jan. 17, CPD
Cheyenne police arrested a 45-year-old man for public intoxication after responding to reports of a disturbance at a movie theater near Concord Road.
At 8:07 p.m., Officer Bolkovatz contacted the suspect, who matched the description of an individual reported as intoxicated. The man exhibited slurred speech, watery eyes and the smell of alcohol on his breath. He admitted to being disruptive in the theater and was asked to leave by another patron, responding, “I am public intoxication,” according to booking sheets. The man was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on a charge of public intoxication.
DUI and Failure to Maintain Lane, near Airport Parkway, Jan. 18, CPD
Cheyenne police arrested a 55-year-old man for DUI after his vehicle was found high-centered on a snowbank near Airport Parkway.
At 6:56 p.m., Officer Peterson responded to a report of an unoccupied vehicle stuck in a snowbank and in drive. Officers located the registered owner, who admitted to driving the vehicle. The man displayed signs of intoxication, including the odor of alcohol and bloodshot eyes, and admitted it was not safe for him to drive. After obtaining a warrant, a blood test was conducted, and the man was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on charges of DUI and failure to maintain a lane.
DUI and Speeding, near U.S. 30 and Statue Drive, Jan. 19, PBPD
A 62-year-old Nebraska man was arrested for DUI after being stopped for speeding near U.S. Highway 30 and Statue Drive in Pine Bluffs.
At 6:50 p.m., Officer Miller observed a blue Dodge Ram accelerating to 39 mph in a 30 mph zone before rapidly slowing down. During the traffic stop, the driver admitted to consuming one beer before driving. After failing standardized field sobriety tests, the driver consented to a breath test, which revealed a BAC of 0.173. He was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on charges of DUI, speeding and failure to provide proof of liability insurance.
Public Intoxication and Refusing to Obey, near Logan Avenue, Jan. 18, CPD
Cheyenne police arrested a 33-year-old transient man for public intoxication, refusing to obey an officer and possessing an open container after multiple incidents.
At midnight, Officer Painter responded to reports of an intoxicated man yelling in the street near Logan Avenue. The man, found with an open container of vodka, was taken to a nearby residence he identified as his girlfriend’s. Shortly after, officers were called back to the home after the man allegedly forced entry and began yelling profanities, disturbing the resident and her children.
When officers attempted to resolve the situation, the man became uncooperative and confrontational, prompting his arrest. He was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on charges of public intoxication, refusing to obey and possession of an open container.
Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest, near West 17th Street, Jan. 19, CPD
Cheyenne police arrested a 34-year-old woman for public intoxication, resisting arrest and damaging property after breaking a window at her ex-boyfriend’s apartment near West 17th Street.
At 2:49 a.m., Officer Tait responded to reports of a disturbance and contacted the suspect, who was found walking away from the scene. The woman, smelling of alcohol, admitted to breaking the window but refused to follow officers’ commands or provide identification.
She resisted being handcuffed and was ultimately restrained before being taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where she was uncooperative during booking.
