CHEYENNE, Wyo. — A domestic dispute on Dey Avenue has escalated into a homicide investigation, Cheyenne police reported. Chantavia Blanche, 24, faces second-degree murder charges after allegedly stabbing her husband, Brian Blanche, 38, during an altercation at their home.
The stabbing occurred on Saturday, Jan. 18 at around 12:30 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Dey Avenue following reports of an assault involving a knife. Upon arrival, officers found Brian with a stab wound to his stomach. They administered first aid and applied pressure to the injury until medics arrived.
Despite his injuries, Brian refused hospital treatment. Investigators determined that a verbal argument between the couple had escalated. During the altercation, Chantavia reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Brian in the living room of their residence.

Four days later, on Wednesday, Jan. 22, Brian succumbed to complications from his injuries. Later that day, police forwarded updated charges to the Laramie County District Attorney’s Office. Chantavia was subsequently charged with second-degree murder.
